NBC’s The Thing About Pam is a true crime drama series named after a podcast of the same name. The series is based on the Dateline TV programs that discuss the story of Pam Hupp and the podcast bears the same name. Based on the actual events of a 2011 murder case, the film’s plot revolves around the assassination of Betsy Faria and how her husband Russ was wrongly convicted of the crime. 5. The Patient (2022)

Hulu’s The Patient is a psychological thriller series co-developed by Joel Fields and Joseph Weisberg. The series follows a sombre psychotherapist named Alan Strauss, a recently widower trying to come to terms with the recent death of his wife. Fields and Weisberg are the executive producers of the show. The revelation that one of his patients, Sam Fortner, is a serial killer amplifies the fear he is already experiencing tenfold. Sam enlists Alan’s help by holding him prisoner to get away from the desire to kill he has. Both “The Patient” and “The Watcher” feature menacing characters – a serial killer and a creepy stalker respectively – who bully the protagonists in their own unique way to express their presence in the protagonists’ lives. This is the common thread that connects the two stories.
