Moore is also an entrepreneur as he is said to have a framed T-shirt from his first professional endeavor in his room. He founded the T-shirt company in the eighth grade, after being expelled from a private Christian school.
Before becoming famous for developing and running a revenge porn site, he worked as a DJ.
The infamous – ‘Is Anyone Up?’
Moore created the website in 2010 with the intention of it being a nightlife website, but after he and several pals received sexually explicit images from ladies they were hooking up with at the time and the site was renamed Is Anyone Up?
Moore’s website allowed users to upload sexual and explicit images of people online without their consent, typically accompanied by personal information such as their names and residences. He refused to remove photographs even upon asking and its content subsequently became known as “revenge porn.”
The website was online for 16 months, during which time he declared multiple times that he was protected by the same laws that protect Facebook.
Moore sold the website in 2012 to an anti-bullying website named BullyVille.com after the FBI investigation.
In 2013, a defamation suit was filed against Moore after he allegedly called McGibney a “pedophile” and threatened to rape his wife, Bullyville founder James McGibney obtained a $250,000 judgement.
FBI Investigation
Charlotte Laws, the mother of one of the victims, spent two years gathering evidence from over 40 victims and turning it over to the FBI. Moore and a colleague hacker named Charles Evens (who went by the nickname “Gary Jones”) were suspected of hacking-related offenses in 2012 when nude images and videos were posted on the website isanyoneup.com.
He eventually faced multiple lawsuits and an FBI investigation. A woman featured on the site also stabbed him in the shoulder with a pen. He also threatened to burn down The Village Voice’s headquarters if they published an article regarding his FBI probe but ran the story regardless.
Guilty Plea and Arrest
Moore was arrested in 2014 on accusations of conspiracy, unauthorized access to a protected computer, and aggravated identity theft. He was freed from the Sacramento County Jail two days later on a $100,000 bond.
He was legally obliged to destroy the archives he owns for the Is Anyone Up? database, and the FBI was watching him do it. In 2015, exactly one year after his imprisonment, posts began to appear on his Twitter account indicating that he had returned to the internet.
Moore entered a guilty plea in 2015 to charges of aggravated identity theft and encouraging unauthorized access to a computer and was sentenced to three years of supervised release after serving 2.5 years in federal prison. In 2017, Moore was freed from jail.
His colleague, Charles Evens also admitted to taking hundreds of photos from women’s email accounts and selling them to Moore while facing accusations of identity theft and computer hacking.

Moore’s whereabouts are unknown to the general public most likely due to his exclusion from several social media platforms, including Facebook but he reportedly lives in New York presently.
Moore also stated in the Substream Magazine that he planned to compose Electronic Dance Music (EDM) music after he was freed from prison, and he later released “Make The Internet Great Again.”
In 2018, he also wrote a book entitled ‘Is Anyone Up!?’ The Story of Revenge Porn,’ and recounted the behind-the-scenes story of his website.
He is, however, still active on Twitter with 4k followers as of now. In April 2022, he sent out a tweet that said he had spent his time behind bars and is living his life peacefully and he doesn’t owe anyone anything thus, he won’t apologize for anything.

Several viewers were enraged by the documentary and rushed to Twitter to express their feelings. Moore was even dubbed a “sad little loser” by one of them.
Hunter Moore Net Worth
As of 2022, Hunter Moore’s net worth is estimated to be $1.5 million. Moore is reportedly the wealthiest criminal, and the illegal porn website he founded provided him with all of his riches.
Moore founded IsAnyoneUp.com in 2010 after spending all of his money partying. He first launched the site to share his wild partying adventures, but when that failed to get traction, that’s when everything went sideways.
In addition, he made $8000 to $13000 monthly in ad revenue, attracting 30 million page views per month. Though his fortune must have been affected through all the legal issues he had been through.
Moore’s book, which he wrote after his release from prison, is also expected to make him extra money. He may also make lots of money from the Netflix docuseries, The Most Hated Man on the Internet. He has probably earned adequate wealth by combining all of these.
