Sima Taparia: Who Is She On Indian Matchmaking Season 2?
Indian Matchmaking Season 1 was a huge hit, so “Sima Taparia from Mumbai,” as she calls herself on the show, is back to help her clients find good matches. This “famous” dating reality show’s second season will be available on Netflix on August 10 at 3 am ET.
Fans will see some familiar faces this season, including our favourite matchmaker, Sima Taparia. Taparia became well-known in 2018 for her work on Indian Matchmaking, which was written about in the New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, South China Morning Post, and other newspapers. Taparia is known for helping India’s wealthy Marwari and Gujarati families find good matches.
Who is Sima Taparia?
Sima was born in Gulbarga to the famous industrial legend Late Shri Rameshchandra Lahoti. From a young age, she could easily remember the people around her. At 19, she got married to Anup Taparia. At the time, Anup was the owner of an industrial group in Mumbai that made hand tools, magnets, textiles, drugs, and exported goods.
Sima’s career was limited in a lot of ways because she married into an orthodox Marwari family.
Sima started an organisation for Maheshwari women called Deepsakhi in 1993 and was its first president. The group has 125 members and is currently based in South Mumbai. In 2018, 80 club members got together to start a new club called DS Novue.
Taparia is also a member of the Rotary club and has led the Ruchika club as its President. For those who didn’t know, Sima always had a way of figuring out how two people were related within minutes, even if she didn’t know the details. She used her talent to start a service to help eligible boys and girls find each other and get married. She said this about the same thing:
“Marriage isn’t just the coming together of two people and their families. It’s also the coming together of two minds that complement each other.”
She started out with a casual attitude, but when her friends told her to take the opportunity seriously, she changed her mind. Today, Taparia has customers from all over the world, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, Thailand, Australia, Singapore, South Africa, Nigeria, and more.
In 2017, Sima was in a Netflix documentary called A Suitable Girl that won an award at the Tribeca Film Festival.
“When I meet clients in India, they usually have a good idea of how much their wedding will cost. So, I base my price, which I charge as a lump sum, on that golden number.”
According to her website, Sima handles every high-profile matchmaking case in a “very personalised way” because family members don’t want their bios to be online.
Season 2 of Indian Matchmaking
In Season 2 of Indian Matchmaking, Nadia, Aparna, and Pradhyuman will be back on Netflix. While Nadia and Aparna are still looking for love, Pradhyuman will tell his family and friends about his girlfriend.
Akshay, Viral, Arshneel, Shital, and Vinesh will be on the show for the first time, and Sima will hear all about what they want in a partner.
In Season 1 of Indian Matchmaking, Sima could not find matches for any of her clients. So fans will have to wait until August 10 to see if she finds any matches for her clients this time.
