Season 2 of RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race will debut on VH1 on August 12 at 8 p.m. EST and will feature a new concept that will make it much more engaging than the previous seasons.

Nine new celebrities will be “sitting on a secret” in the upcoming season of the “ultimate lip-sync showdown” and go through a “unbelievable drag metamorphosis” while keeping their identity a “top secret.”

The new celebs will “perform with everything they have got” to win and avoid elimination by finishing first. Only when they are eliminated will the celebrities reveal who they are.

RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race season 2’s new format is described

Celebrities competed for a cash reward of $30,000 for the charity they support in the inaugural season of RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race in 2020. They went inside the werkroom and engaged in a mini-competition.

After that, former Drag Race contestants were paired with these celebrities to serve as their mentors throughout the rest of the competition. Every episode concluded with the announcement of the reality show’s winner, who received $30,000 for their charity. It was then, though.

For the competition’s second season, the format of the show has altered.

Nine new celebrities will compete in the second season of the show, according to the show’s trailer, and they will always wear makeup to conceal their identities. Only when they have been eliminated from the “fiercest celebrity competition” will their identities be made public.

Three “Queen Supremes”—Monét X Change, the winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars season 4, Jujubee, and judge Brooke Lynn Hytes—will serve as the show’s permanent mentors in the upcoming season.

As “extra special guest stars,” other queens such as Silky Nutmeg Ganache, Violet Chacki, Eureka, Gottmik, Katya, and Morgan McMichaels will be included on the programme.

Additionally, the new season’s monetary award has been increased. Every episode of “America’s Next Celeb Drag Superstar” in season 1 featured a $30,000 cash prize for the winner. However, only one celebrity will be crowned the victor of RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race in season 2, and that person will win a $100,000 cash prize.
