Are Dong-ha and Eun-ju a model family couple? theories
A Model Family is a Netflix crime series primarily set in Seoul, South Korea and features assassinations, drug dealing, organized crime, and money laundering as part of its plot. However, the complicated connection between Park Dong-ha (Woo Jung) and his wife Eun-ju drives everything (Yoon Jin-seo).
Both studied literature at university, but Eun-ju never graduated. She had to drop out of school after finding out she was expecting her and Dong’s child. ha’s Donh-ha is currently an assistant professor while Eun-ju is a translator, and neither of them are really happy with how things have turned out.

Dong-ha and Eun’s relationship is not necessarily romantic; Instead, it’s a prime example of what happens when the romance fades. Dong-ha and Eun-ju were once content, but those days are long gone.
Eun-ju files for divorce early in the series, unaware that Dong-ha lost all of the funds they saved for her son’s heart transplant while trying to get a job as a full-time professor. Eun-ji and her children are staying with their mother when Dog-ha discovers the van with two bodies and a substantial sum of cash inside. This allows him to bury the victims and hide the money more easily.
But because Dong-ha isn’t a career criminal, he inevitably makes mistakes and lots of them, bringing criminals and the police to their homes and putting his children’s lives at risk.
At the same time, Dong-ha experiences terrible and unrelenting violence at the hands of his wife at home. It can be argued that the toxic atmosphere in his home contributes to his despair.
But for all her spite and anger, she unwittingly conveys that she still loves her husband. She travels with Dong-ha as he hands over the money.
They later discover they were used as bait. By the end of the season, they may or may not have reconciled. But Eun-ju now considers Dong-ha a member of her family again. Eun-ju explains that she feels like she’s become a nobody since her marriage when Dong-ha asks her why she wanted to end her marriage.
In one of the final scenes of the season, Donbg-ha is shown watching a videotape of her earlier, better times. They can never go back there, he is aware of that. His tears are a sign of acceptance. But at least they can be polite to each other.
