“Being on the road with our fans is our greatest joy, so this was a difficult but important decision,” said the band, which also consists of Hillary Scott and dave Heywood– said in a statement published on Instagram August 4. “We’re a band, but more importantly… we’re a family.”
The group continued: “We are proud to say that Charles has embarked on a journey to sobriety. So now, in order to be the healthiest, strongest and most creative group we can have, Lady A will take the time, with the support of our families and team of professionals, to get through this together.”
Lady A admitted that postponing the tour was a “tough” decision, but the right one for the group. “It’s still early in the journey,” the statement continued, “but we are determined to do what will best prepare us for many more years together.”
