Britney Spears’s ex-husband, Jason Alexander, has been caught in another legal trap.
Police records seen by Page Six show Alexander was taken from Ventura County Jail in California on Tuesday after serving a 60-day sentence for breaking into the house of the singer “Sometimes” and immediately transferred to Napa County Jail under a 2016 order. alleged theft of jewelry.
Arrest records show that 40-year-old Alexander was charged with serious theft and the purchase / receipt of stolen property.
TMZ reported that the allegations stem from Alexander allegedly departing with a $ 2,000 women’s bracelet when he was a guest at someone’s Napa house in 2015.
Police say Alexander only lived in the woman’s house for a few weeks when they claimed to have noticed jewelry missing from her bedroom. Apparently he later confessed to the woman that he had stolen her diamond and sapphire tennis bracelet and pawned it.
He is being held on bail of $ 20,000.
Despite being transferred, Alexander will still be sitting at the home burglary hearing on November 9. Alexander initially pleaded not guilty to breaking into Spears’ home on her wedding day in June, but switched his appeal to undisputed a week ago.
The uncontested allegation means that Alexander accepted his conviction as if he pleaded guilty, but did not officially plead guilty to qualifying violation and assault, which are misdemeanors.
The court dismissed the charges of persecution and vandalism.
A source at the Spears camp only told Page Six at the time that the outcome was a “good result” because if the case had been conducted in Los Angeles, Alexander would likely not have served any prison terms.
