Deleting Shortcuts: A Guide

The location of the shortcuts bar varies between Facebook for iOS and Android. Unlike iOS, Android places the bar with recognized icons at the bottom of the screen. Facebook for iOS is shown in the screenshots below.

Block shortcuts in the menu

Hiding shortcuts from the menu bar takes less time and requires just one tap. You can turn off notification dots by removing a specific shortcut.

• Click Menu (the three horizontal bars) to the right of the Facebook menu, which is located at the bottom of the screen.
• To access more choices, select Settings & privacy > Settings.
• Choose Shortcuts from the list of settings.
• Select the shortcut bar.
• Tap the drop-down menu next to the shortcut on the Customize Your Shortcut Bar screen. Select Hide.

The specific shortcut icon is no longer visible in the shortcut bar thanks to Facebook. All hidden shortcuts can be unhidden in the Hidden Shortcuts list, where they all appear.

Adding a Shortcut: A Guide

• On the right side of the shortcut bar, select Menu.
• Enable shortcuts under Settings & privacy > Settings > Preferences.
• Shortcut bar, choose.
• Go to the hidden shortcuts by scrolling.

Select “Auto” or “Pin” from the drop-down menu that says “Hidden” next to the shortcut on the right. The Auto setting allows you to change the visibility of the shortcut in the shortcut bar, but based on your activity. For example, it might not appear if you don’t use Marketplace frequently. Select Pin to add and leave the icon there.
