Tatiana Maslany Became a Marvel Scholar Before She-Hulk

Even superheroes have to do their homework.

Preparing for the role of She-Hulk (aka Jennifer Walters) on Disney+ She-Hulk: The Lawyer, Tatiana Maslany knew she had a pretty personal project on her hands, especially considering that the series includes references to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Easter Eggs.

“I definitely had to do my research,” Maslany exclusively told E! News. “In the beginning, I read a lot of comics because it was the best way to get to know the Hulk girl. But then I went back and watched the movies. I especially watched those in which Mark [Ruffalo] they also have the original Hulks.”

Maslany got some extra MCU tutoring from Ruffalo himself, who stars in the series as the Smart Hulk.

The Orphan Black Alum was happy she did her due diligence, as she says, “because there are so many links, you have to be aware of what’s coming next.”

Not only that, She’s the Hulk is incredibly self-aware and often leans into the meta-commentary of a rabid Marvel fan, sometimes making jokes about the show itself before fans on the internet even get the chance.
