365 Days 365 Days Are Coming to an End: The beginning of Massimo and Laura’s relationship is marked by some suspicious events. He was the man who abducted her; he is a dominant, disturbed, and erratic individual. The first film received a lot of backlash due to the fundamentally toxic relationship that existed between the two main characters, and one could make a case that criticism was warranted. In the first sequel, as in the second book of the Lipiska trilogy, things become more subdued, and Nacho is introduced as a character. Nacho was probably introduced as a character to counterbalance Massimo and give Laura a choice beyond the tightly constrained partnership she had with the Sicilian mob boss. In the second film, Laura and Nacho begin a relationship with each other, albeit one founded on an untrue premise. There is no evidence that Massimo cheated on Laura, and contrary to popular belief, Nacho is not a gardener but the son of a rival mob lord. After Laura is shot, the story appears to come to an abrupt halt. On the other hand, the book “The Next 365 Days” reveals that their feelings for each other were real, and they continued even after a long time had passed. By getting close to Laura, Nacho puts his life and his father’s life in danger, and Laura seems to believe that their marriage is on the verge of dissolving. It’s a whirlwind relationship full of passion and hot, passionate sex, but there’s also danger lurking in the background. It’s a partnership where Laura has agency in every decision they make together, which is probably one of the most important aspects for her. Ironically, Nacho and Massimo are not that different. Even though he didn’t actually kidnap Laura, in the second film he still brings her to the island, despite the fact that he is fully aware that she is the target of an elaborate hoax. After all, he was complicit in that deception and helped perpetuate it. Both he and his father decide to take him to the island, resulting in them betraying their Sicilian conspiracies. In addition, there is some doubt as to whether or not Laura knows the following fact in the third movie: Nacho’s father is the mastermind behind the incident that led to her miscarriage. In the episode titled “The Next 365 Days,” Laura proves Massimo right when he points out how messed up their existence is because of his enemies. However, he should know that the situation will not improve in any way with Nacho in relation to this. He is also heavily involved in mob activities. The film stops short of offering a definitive answer to the question of which path he will take. This will undoubtedly lead to rumors about the next episode. And if there isn’t any sequel, and this is all we get, then one can hypothesize about the reasons why Netflix would do something like this. In the novel, Massimo’s character seems to have turned around. In the end, Laura will end up with Nacho, and the three of them will have children. Due to the fact that it ends this way, readers who seemed to admire the first book expressed their displeasure in the third book. The conclusion the film gives us is undoubtedly intended to be a retort to this kind of reaction. Laura realizes that Massimo knew about her affair the whole time. Whatever it was, he didn’t take any action. She begins to have second thoughts about divorcing her husband and even fantasizes about sleeping with Nacho and Massimo at the same time. In the end, Laura decides to return to Sicily and talk to her husband. To bring Laura to his house, Nacho risks his life and goes to Massimo’s territory. In the car, Laura tells Nacho again that she needs some time to herself. The film ends with him talking to his wife on a beach not far from their house. He asks if she has come back or not. Before he can even begin to answer, the credits begin to roll. It’s reasonable to assume that she broke up with Nacho, given the path the film takes and the conclusion the author of the source material came to for the story. However, Netflix is giving its users the opportunity to draw their own conclusions about what path Laura will ultimately take. Audience members have the option of choosing Nacho, Massimo, or both. If the audience chooses, Laura can even start over and forget about all this nonsense going on.
