At the end of a horror convention in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, Gary Busey was charged with four counts of sexual contact and assault. This happened during the meet-and-greet time at the Monster Mania conference.

Busey is an actor who works in the US. He played Buddy Holly in 1978’s The Buddy Holly Story. For this role, he was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor and won the National Society of Film Critics Award for Best Actor.

In the 1990s, he had major supporting roles in films such as Predator 2, Point Break and Under Siege. The American actor has also appeared in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, The Firm, Black Sheep, Rookie of the Year and Black Sheep.

Cherry Hill police say Gary Busey was arrested Friday and charged with two counts of criminal sexual contact in the fourth degree, one count of attempted criminal sexual contact and one count of harassment.

FOX 29’s Steve Keeley said on Twitter that Cherry Hill police checked three women’s claims that the actor touched them inappropriately when he met them to sign autographs.

Police expect to hear more women in the coming days. The Buddy Holly Story actor would be a special guest on all three days of the event.

Variety reported that Busey, along with actors Ralph Macchio, Tom Skerritt and Veronica Cartwright, would be in charge of the autograph booth.

The problem with the convention is still under investigation. When PEOPLE asked the actor’s representative for a response, neither she nor the Cherry Hill Police Department responded right away.

Busey was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident on December 4, 1988. He was not wearing a helmet at the time. His skull was fractured and he caused permanent damage to his brain.

I can finally be myself for the first time.” Busey says that both the motorcycle accident and a cocaine overdose he had in 1995 helped him grow in his Christian faith.
