Love may be blind, but this pair of realities apparently struggled to find a way to a bright future without a film crew.

Word spread on Sunday that the last marriage from the second season of Netflix’s “Love Is Blind” no longer exists, and Danielle Ruhl filed for divorce from Nick Thompson on August 15, according to documents obtained exclusively by TMZ.

The news came right after a separate update on the only other couple to survive their wedding to the season two finale, Iyanna McNeely and Jarrette Jones: The duo announced in a joint statement posted on Instagram on August 17 that they too will continue their divorce proceedings.

Nick Thompson and Danielle Ruhl were believed to be the last couple standing in the second season of Netflix "Love is blind," but in fact their divorce papers were filed on August 15th.

Perhaps it was the scorching rays of this summer that shed a harsh light on more deeply entrenched relationship problems – which began with adorable encounters via isolation capsules on the show between these fleetingly triumphant rivals on the dating show.

As Ruhl told Page Six in March, finding a “structure” around her partnership with Thompson “when she returned to reality” proved to be a challenge.

The couple even mentioned their attempts to “duplicate” the circumstances around which they met.

The news of the divorce no doubt surprised fans as the couple looked strong over the past few months.

“It led to many journeys. It led to spending a lot of time with friends and family and actually planning it, ”Thompson said at the time. “We made sure to keep a little bit of routine so that we could continue building on the foundation we had.”

Even so, the couple have looked strong over the past few months, and the latest photos of them shared on social media – showing how the couple was gone, apparently had a great time at Lollapalooza – posted to Ruhl’s Instagram on August 1.

Back in July, Ruhl spoke of her intentions that she and Thompson would renew their vows in the near future. “For our two or three year anniversary, we really want to rewrite the party to make sure all our families can be there.” Weekly told us last month. “I have always dreamed of my dream wedding, planning a wedding and a hen party. So we do it all … when we have time. “

Ruhl seems to be on the rise already, shared stories on her Instagram late last week of her hanging out with her friends from season two of the show – with a single flick showing the four ladies beaming up while standing on the outside balcony.
