Why Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck Are Going to Last This Time

Speaking with HuffPost Live in 2015, she called their intense romance “a high-profile relationship that fell apart really badly” amid a truly low-key career for her. Yet Lopez also said she has “no regrets. I think I would do it all over again. I would really do that. Even part of the relationship. I just feel like everything is part of your story and your journey and has a purpose and helps you grow if you want to look at it, and I’m willing to look.”

Fast forward six years and, reader, she has done it all over again.

But not quite. With five kids between them and a lot more mileage on their life odometer, they’re older, wiser, and unconcerned about what the media might say about their romantic reunion. (Though, in case they ever wonder, the answers range from overjoyed to downright remorseful, some lean toward the opportunity to reflect on why, as Affleck described the way they were 19 years ago, they were “so damn mean.” )

And, oh, the lessons each learned — about love, loyalty, family, and, perhaps most importantly, about themselves.
