Whoopi Goldberg reveals who inspired the character of Cinderella

This is what we learned in 1997 Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella movie, starring Brandy, Whitney Houstonand Whoopi Goldberg. But that thought came true when, 25 years later, fans saw the cast of the Disney film reunited on ABC. special issue of Cinderella: The Reunion August 23. During the special show, Goldberg shared what it took to create the beloved Queen Constantine.

View The co-host spilled the tea behind the scenes and revealed that she mirrored her own mannerisms to bring the character to life, as the role was largely based on herself.

“I wanted her to be me in a dress. A little silly, a little fun. And I marked her,” Goldberg said. “She doesn’t finish sentences. She makes sounds.”

The Oscar winner also said it was her idea for the Queen to wear all that glitter, and it wasn’t cheap stuff.
