Ever since the musician rose to fame with the release of his chart-topping remix of “Old Town Road,” with Billy Ray Cyrus in April 2019, he has never shied away from wearing electrifying clothes. In fact, Lil Nas X’s western-inspired style started the cowboy craze two years ago. The star’s look was anything but simple as he paired bondage-like harnesses and mesh tops with cowboy hats and rhinestone-studded boots.
As the rapper’s music moved into riskier territory, so did his fashion.
At the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards, the 23-year-old drew attention in a hybrid suit and dress. Versace’s lavender design featured a shimmering off-the-shoulder blazer with a floor-length train paired with shimmering trousers.
With this year’s MTV Video Music Awards set to take place on August 28th, it’s only a few days until Lil Nas X wows the crowd once again. (He earned seven nominations and is expected to perform “Industry Baby” with Jack Harlow.)
