Jena Malone reflects on “beautiful” coming out journey as pansexual

Jena Malone becomes candid about her “sexual journey”.

The The Hunger Games alum recently came out as pansexual, writing in an Instagram post“I thought I was a heterosexual man in a woman’s body. I visualized his desires and placed them on myself. But it was never the whole story that was meant to be for me.”

“So I learned a new way to talk about it,” she continued. “Finding words that I think are more appropriate for research in my story. Pansexuality. Sapiosexuality. Polyamory. A fuller range of understanding of what my story requires of me.”

Now, in an interview with The Hollywood ReporterThe 37-year-old shared that she was so happy to be open about her sexuality. “I’ve been thinking about it for a while,” she explained. “The sexual journey is so beautiful. I mean, all identity journeys are so cool.”

And while she admittedly feels she’s “a little late to the game to have less shame,” Jena “loves the process of learning more about myself and others through different terms that open windows, those windows then turn into doors and then I I come there to find all these interesting things.”
