Jessica Chastain shared on Thursday footage of her humanitarian trip to Ukraine after visiting a war-ravaged but tireless country in early August.

“I needed a few weeks to process everything I saw from my trip to Kiev”, actress, 45, he wrote in a tweet preceding the roughly 1-minute editing.

“We landed in Poland, traveled 4 hours, and then boarded the train for another 11. I was nervous and the length of the journey gave me time to calm down,” she added about the complicated logistics of the trip.

In the film, the actress “Zero Dark Thirty” visits several children, one of whom gives her a drawing of a bicycle with a basket filled with 3D flowers made of construction paper.

The footage ends with Chastain holding the artwork on his lap as her car drives away.

During the trip, Chastain also met with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, which stimulated and inspired both the country’s citizens and international observers refusing to offer evacuation after Russia’s invasion of his people in February 2022.

Zelenskiy has since remained on the front line in the fight against the Russian invasion of Ukraine and regularly posts updates on his Twitter.
