Sitcom star Maitland Ward says making porn “changes the soul”
Former Disney star Maitland Ward credits himself for making porn with instilling confidence in her.
A graduate of Boy Meets World wrote about her transition from family entertainment to entertainment successful career in the adult film industry in her new journal Rated X, released on Tuesday, which criticizes House of Mouse and praises porn for allowing it to flourish.
While in junior high, Ward made a regular appearance in the soap opera “Laughable and Beautiful” and starred opposite Mario Lopez in the TV movie “Killing Mr. Griffin “.
In 1998, her character Rachel McGuire was introduced to the ABC sitcom “Boy Meets World,” starring Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel.
The actress, who grew up a Christian with a grandmother sticking her Bible, criticizes the way she was objectified by employees of Disney – parent company ABC – while filming the sitcom.
“I was asked to try on underwear for manufacturers in the office,” writes Ward. “It happened more than once because Rachel was the only character to consistently take off her clothes. The assistant picked me up from my wardrobe and took me upstairs, where I had a range of options to choose from, some fun and girly, others so provocative I knew Disney would never approve of them, but I tried them nonetheless. “
Ward says she was forced to dress up behind such a thin veil. “I’m sure they saw my nude silhouette.”
When she left, the group of mostly men judged whether the costumes “showed too much or too little to win the boys.” [watching the series] excited.”
She remembers the producer saying with an embarrassed chuckle, “You’re like a daughter to me,” before she was asked to try on another outfit.
The actress stayed until the end of the show in 2000, followed by a comedic twist in the 2004 Wayans Brothers movie “White Chicks.”
But the work in Hollywood dried up and Ward began to appear on red carpets in sexy cosplay outfits.
“To be unnecessary is to be a woman in Hollywood,” she writes. “And you’re worth nothing to anyone if you can’t support your man.”
A few years later, Ward, now 45, began posting nude and topless photos on social media – and won a large fan base. In 2019, she announced on Instagram that she had starred in a full-length leather movie called Drive. Directed by veteran porn actress Kayden Kross, the film casts her in the role of an “innocent” woman who begins to bloom – much like Ward’s metamorphosis.
“After it all started, I found myself a changed person,” she says. “I had new confidence and a full-time job, and it wasn’t because I was smiling at my superiors. The confirmation given to me, especially after being told no one would ever pay a dime to see me sexy, changed my soul.
Since marrying real estate agent Terry Baxter in 2006, Ward has researched her sexuality, including realizing that she is also attracted to women.
She angrily dismisses claims that her husband, who he says is a full-time supporter of her career, is a “dodger” and praises him for recognizing “my twisted sexual urges as something important and real.”
Ward notes that her new sexy makeover has boosted her confidence in the wider world. For so long she relied on her past mainstream acting achievements to get validated.
Last year, Ward has revealed that he extracts six figures a month from OnlyFans and boasted that it allows her to do “more acting than I have ever done” and earn “more money and feel stronger than ever in my life.”
“I got brainwashed to believe that nothing else matters than working in Hollywood,” she writes, adding that the money earned from porn allowed her to no longer hide or adjust.
And now Ward’s career has come full circle, as he now stars in the main comedy series “The Big Time,” in which he plays an adult superstar. Suitable for streaming this fall.
The actress admits that she is nervous before filming begins.
“It was like riding a bike, but the bike rode again after walking in those old shoes that I’d been telling about all my life on an unpredictable road,” he writes before adding that now it was infinitely better because “now I was confident and I wasn’t. I was afraid of everything that held me back as a girl.
“Porn got me.”
