King Charles told Harry not to bring Meghan Markle to Balmoral
King Charles reportedly told Prince Harry that “it was not right” for Meghan Markle to come to Balmoral when Queen Elizabeth II was dying.
Earlier on Thursday, the Palace announced that doctors were “concerned” with the health of the 96-year-old and would place her under “medical supervision”. In response, members of the royal family rushed to Scotland to be at the monarch’s bedside in the last moments.
“Charles told Harry that Meghan was neither right nor appropriate to be at Balmoral during such a deeply sad time,” source The Sun said.
“He was shown Kate [Middleton] it is not going and that the numbers should really be limited to the immediate family. “
The source added that Prince Charles – now King Charles III – “showed very, very clearly that Meghan would not be welcomed.”
As previously reported on Page Six, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were initially planning a joint trip to see the Queen. Half an hour later, word came out that Harry would be traveling alone.
The death of the queen came just days after a graduate of “The Suit” gave another bomb interview for The Cut, in which she criticized the royal family and stated that “simply by being” she and Harry “disrupted the dynamics of the hierarchy.”
On Thursday, longtime BBC correspondent Nicholas Witchell said on air to Markle: “It may not be terribly warmly received to be completely honest about this.”
“The tensions were so high and there was no way Meghan could go to Balmoral,” a high-ranking palace specialist told The Post.
King Charles attempted to stretch an olive branch over a pair during his first public speech as reigning monarch of Great Britain and the Commonwealth of Nations on Friday.
“I want to express my love for Harry and Meghan as they continue to build their lives abroad,” he said in a pre-recorded video message.
