Meet the winner of Making the Cut season 3, Yannik Zamboni, where is he now?
Making the Cut is an intriguingly competitive design reality show produced by Prime Video. The show brings together a group of ambitious fashion designers from around the world and pits them against each other in a competition for the title of best designer. These fashion designers compete against each other in a series of challenges that have been carefully selected to test a variety of their skills, including their technique and their skills. In addition, after each challenge, some participants are eliminated; however, the candidate who remains standing will be declared the winner and will receive a significant cash prize in addition to a mentorship at Amazon Fashion.
In the third season of ‘Making the Cut’ we were introduced to Swiss designer Yannik Zamboni, who wowed us all with his beautiful artwork. In addition, Yannik had a pleasant attitude, partly because of this he became a popular favorite among the participants.
The Making The Cut journey by Yannick Zamboni
Yannik Zamboni comes from a rural community in Switzerland with a total population of about 700 people. Yannik came to terms with the fact that he was unique, even as he matured in such a tight-knit group, and he became determined to make a contribution that would improve the state of the world. It is interesting to note that fashion design was not Yannik’s first career decision; he previously made a fortune as a model and even worked in the marketing field before deciding to pursue a career in fashion design. Yannik was unstoppable after he discovered his love for fashion design and realized that this was his one true calling. Prior to this realization, he was stuck in a rut.
The Swiss fashion designer launched his eponymous fashion label, Maison Blanche, in the year 2020, after graduating from the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in northwestern Switzerland with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fashion Design. During his time on the show, Yannik wanted to put his best foot forward, but he refused to change his design approach to meet the demands of the competition. Therefore, every item he entered was a reflection of his unique style, while also adhering to the concept of the competition. Constantly impressed by his designs, the jury applauded him for having such a unique combination of originality and versatility in his concepts.
In fact, over the course of the competition, Yannik won two of the tasks and was never in danger of being knocked out. In addition, he gave the impression of being very encouraging to his rivals and built a great bond with the majority of them. In the end, the president of Amazon Fashion was blown away by Yannik’s business pitch, and the fact that he had a complete 10-piece collection propelled him ahead of the rest of the contestants. As a result, Yannik was chosen as the winner and in addition to a cash prize of one million dollars, he was also given a mentorship at Amazon Fashion.
Where is Yannik Zamboni right now?
It is interesting to note that it has always been Yannik’s goal to make his fashion company his public voice. As a result, a significant number of his designs are entirely motivated by global interests. Moreover, he believes that the concept of sustainability can be divided into four different categories, namely ethical, socio-political, ecological and economic. On the other hand, the challenges that members of the LGBTQ+ community face on a daily basis have had a major impact and served as a source of inspiration for Yannik. Having experienced the problems himself, the Swiss fashion designer decided to model some of his pieces after his personal experiences.
Because of such forward thinking, his fame skyrocketed and at present Yannik lives in Zurich, Switzerland, where he operates his fashion brand, Maison Blanche. From there he also designs the company’s collections. It came as a surprise when he stated that he didn’t like being in the spotlight and had no plans to appear on television. However, he had little choice but to agree because there was insufficient funding.
As a result of Yannik’s win, which earned him a million dollars, we can reasonably expect to have other opportunities to admire his remarkable creations. On the other hand, while we have reason to believe that Yannik is not in a relationship at the moment, he seems completely focused on taking his career to the next level, and for that reason we wish him the very best of luck.
