Nearly a week after the kindergarten teacher, a married mother of two, was found dead after being kidnapped while jogging, Fletcher was laid to rest during a funeral service at Second Presbyterian Church in Memphis, Tennessee on September 10. Unfortunately, the venue is the same place where she got married Richard Fletcher III in 2014. According Memphis Magazinethe church was also where the couple, who have two young children, first met.

About 300 people, including Fletcher’s parents and husband, attended the service, which was streamed live on the church’s YouTube page. Fox News reported The service included hymns performed by the Second Presbyterian Church choir, including “This Little Light of Mine,” and Fletcher was shown on video singing the track to her kindergarten students during the COVID-19 pandemic, the outlet reported.

Fletcher’s funeral took place the day after hundreds of supporters ran through the streets of Memphis as part of a run to honor the late mum-of-two.

Security video showed Fletcher jogging Sept. 2 when a man approached the 34-year-old and forced her into a black GMC Terrain, according to Memphis police.
