Still in Formula 2 in 2019, De Vries has joined Nikita Mazepin in his former team ART Grand Prix, the 2018 GP3 runner-up was a podium finish in Baku. After starting from the front row in Monaco, he won the championship by winning the important race at Le Castellet.
