Not all hope is lost.
Oprah Winfrey believes her friend Meghan Markle and her husband Prince Harry will be able to reconcile with the royal family amidst constant tensions as they mourn the loss of Queen Elizabeth II.
“I think so, I think in all families – you know, my father passed away recently, this summer, and when all the families get together for a ceremony, a ritual, you know, burying the dead, there’s a chance for peace,” said Winfrey during an interview with Extra published on Monday. ”
Winfrey, 68, added, “I hope so.”
Talk show host comments about Markle’s position in the royal family came after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex showed signs of unity when it was noted that they were reuniting Prince William and Kate Middleton to honor the Queen following her death last week at the age of 96 years.
A royal source told Page Six that William had extended the invitation to include his estranged brother and wife.
“We are all very grateful – both sides put everything aside for the Queen,” said the only royal Page Six source.
During the meeting, Markle and Harry first appeared in public with the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall, formerly Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, on March 9, Commonwealth Day.
Winfrey, in particular, was at the center of Markle and Harry’s drama with royalty after they relinquished their royal duties and moved to California thanks to her infamous Sussexes interview in March 2021.
During the bombing, Markle said she experienced suicidal thoughts after joining the royals, but Buckingham Palace did nothing to help her mental health when she came to the “company” for help.
Alum “The Suit”, which is black, also shared that a member of the royal family expressed concern about the skin color of her and Harry Archie’s son.
Markle even referred to rumors that she made Kate Middleton cry, arguing that in fact it was the opposite and that Middleton had brought Markle to tears a few days before her wedding to Harry.
Meanwhile, Markle shared that Middleton had apologized and that she had “forgiven her.” Still, the royal family was reportedly embarrassed that Markle and Harry had released so much information about the family so publicly.
And the Queen was clearly “sad” about the interview, but she stayed close to Harry nonetheless. Harry and Markle even visited the UK in June to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and introduce her to their one-year-old daughter Lilibet.
Harry broke his silence about his grandmother’s death on Monday by making the statement: “I enjoy these moments shared with you and many other special moments in between. I already miss you so much.
