College Career

The first year

Barkley became a starter at Penn State as a true freshman in 2015. In his second game against Buffalo, he carried for 115 yards and a touchdown after getting just one yard on one carry in his debut. With 31 carries for 202 yards and a touchdown in the week six game against Maryland, Barkley achieved his first 200-yard running game at Penn State. In a game against Ohio State in week seven, Barkley carried 99 yards on 12 runs and a 37-yard catch, helping the Buckeyes beat the second-ranked team 24-21. When Purdue played in week eight, Barkley scored and No. 24 Penn State by a season-high 62 points.
