Ryan Reynolds undergoes a life-saving colonoscopy on the camera

Ryan Reynolds discovered he had a “subtle polyp” on his colon during the first colonoscopy he was transmitting to de-stigmatize the procedure.

45-year-old actor “Deadpool” and his co-chairman of Wrexham Football Club, Rob McElhenney, decided to partner with Drive in the reara colon cancer awareness organization to encourage people – especially men – to get surgery when the time comes.

In YouTube video uploaded on Reynold’s website on Tuesday, the two made it clear that they wanted to prove how a “simple step” can “save lives.”

“I would never normally have any medical procedure recorded and then shared,” said Reynolds.

“But not every day it is possible to raise awareness of something that will definitely save a life. Motivation enough for me to let you get on the camera shoved up my ass.

During surgery, Reynolds discovered that he had found an “extremely subtle polyp” on the right side of the colon that was immediately removed.

“It potentially saved your life – I’m not kidding, I’m not overly dramatic,” the doctor told the actor, showing the pictures of the tissue. “That’s why you do it. You didn’t have any symptoms.

As for McElhenney, his doctor revealed that he found three polyps that “were not much of a problem, but it was certainly a good thing that we found them early and removed them.”

The excited star of “Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” also 45, joked that he “won” the competition considering he has two more polyps than Reynolds.
