Dejoune Killingbeck Arrested: Video shows Florida man arrested for child neglect after toddlers were seen wandering Walmart parking lot

Dejoune Killingbeck, 35, was taken in by Florida police and charged with child neglect after two toddlers in only diapers were found wandering the parking lot of a Florida Walmart under his watch on Sept. 15, while he was unconscious at inside his car. The incident occurred while Killingbeck was shopping at a Florida Walmart.

The event was captured on body camera footage that was later uploaded to the internet. In the video, Florida law enforcement officers can be seen trying to wake up Killingbeck, the father of two, who appears somewhat disoriented as they try to interview him. According to reports, Killingbeck was entrusted with the custody of his children while their mother shopped at Walmart.

According to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office, on Wednesday night, concerned witnesses noticed two children running in the parking lot of a Walmart store in Florida during the rain. The children were wearing only part of their clothes. After that, it was the patrons of the store who brought the babies and small children inside. According to reports, the children did not sustain any injuries.

According to a report from a regional news website called Click Orlando, while Killingbeck fell asleep behind the wheel of the vehicle, employees at Walmart dressed the youth and tended to them until police arrived on the scene.

“When deputies arrived, they discovered that Dejoune Killingbeck (DOB 4/23/1987) was unconscious while sitting behind the wheel of a moving vehicle. When asked about the whereabouts of his children, Killingbeck, however, gives the impression of being confused on the subject. He then allegedly explained to authorities that it was his responsibility to watch the children while their mother shopped at Walmart.

According to Click Orlando, while Killingbeck was being loaded into a patrol vehicle, he tried to throw away some chopped hay. This occurred when escorting Killingbeck. Police reportedly recovered the straw, and a field test revealed evidence of oxycodone and fentanyl.
