DWTS’ Hleb Savchenko talks about making history with Shangela

Season 31 Dancing with the stars ready to make history.

Dancing with the stars partners Hleb Savchenko and Shangela teased just that to E! News at the Posing Party Tyra Banks in ModelLand. For those who may not know, Shangela, a fan favorite from RuPaul’s Drag Raceis the first ever drag queen to compete on the American edition Dancing with the stars.

But the historical moments do not end there, as Gleb is only the second professional to dance with a same-sex partner, the first was Jenna Johnsonwho danced with Jojo Siva in the 30th season.

And as Gleb shared with E! News, he has the honor of going down in history with Shangela. “I’ve never danced with a male partner before,” he said, “and it’s definitely different, but in a good way. I’m actually enjoying our rehearsals, much more than I’ve enjoyed rehearsals in previous seasons.”
