New Delhi, Sep 18 (IANS) With over 87,000 individuals voluntarily donating blood on a single day on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, India on Saturday achieved a major feat in making one another world record.
The countrywide uber willful blood gift drive under ‘Raktdaan Amrit Mahotsav’ was launched by Association Pastor for Wellbeing Mansukh Mandaviya by donating blood at a camp at Safdarjung Clinic.

More than 87,137 individuals donated blood on a single day in the evening, the country surpassing the previous best of 87,059 (2014) to set another world record.
“New world record! Today I am happy to explain that on the birthday of the Head of state @NarendraModi ji, under #RaktdaanAmritMahotsav, more than 87,000 individuals voluntarily donated blood, which is another world record. This is a meaningful gift from the nation to our beloved Pradhan Sevak,” Mandaviya said in a tweet in Hindi.

A total of 6,136 camps have enrolled for the super drive while over 1.95 lakh blood donors have registered themselves at the E-Rakt Kosh gateway.
