Mike Myers says he is “gutted” and “so sad” about Queen’s death

Mike Myers has revealed that he is “gutted” because of the departure of Queen Elizabeth II.

The Canadian-born actor whose parents were English still seemed a bit shocked by the monarch’s departure on the red carpet in his latest film “Amsterdam” at Alice Tully Hall on a Sunday night.

“Honestly, I’m still gutted,” said Page Six only. “I haven’t left, it’s the first time I’m leaving.”

The 59-year-old star of Austin Powers explained why the Queen meant so much to him.

“She was a constant part of my life. It was on our money, at every airport, at every ice hockey rink, ”he said before adding that it was also very important to his parents.

Myers is delighted and somewhat amazed to be part of the impressive cast of David O. Russell’s “Amsterdam,” a period comedy starring Christian Bale, John David Washington, Margot Robbie, Chris Rock, Anna Taylor-Joy and Robert De Niro.

“David called me about four years ago and we talked about it,” he said. “I thought he was a great filmmaker, and that is a fantastic subject for a movie. I know he is a real entertainer, so any broader social comment [there is] will be presented in a very funny way and I was right. “

Also attending the premiere were Margot Robbie, Rami Malek, Andrea Riseborough, Michael Shannon and Drake, who was one of the film’s producers.
