How did Michael Zammetti Jr. die? and Chester Roberts?

Michael A. Zammetti Jr. AKA Mike Zammitti was born in Wakefield, Massachusetts, and he was the son of Michael A. and Patricia (LeFave) Zammetti. Mike’s deep interest in his father’s profession began when he was still in school. Mike Sr. was the owner and operator of Allstate Concrete Pumping Inc., a large construction company, and Mike Jr. After school, Mike went to work at a concrete pump company while the rest of his friends went to play with their friends. Even before he was old enough to apply for a driver’s license, he had already acquired the necessary skills to drive the large commercial vehicles.

Michael didn’t go to college, but had immersed himself in the business with his father, Michael Sr.. Soon, Allstate Concrete became a father and son operation led by Michael Sr. and Michael Jr. A calm and non-confrontational person, Mike met Michele Begin, a soft-faced truck driver, while Mike was working at the airport. Michele was driving a van. They eventually married and had three children: Julia L., Maria L. and Michael A. Zammetti, III. They fell in love and decided to get married. Mike’s purchase of a vacation rental in Freedom, New Hampshire, just down the street from his parents’ home on Lake Ossipee, marked the beginning of a prosperous new chapter in family history.

On the morning of March 13, 2006, the Zammittis and their part-time driver and handyman, Chester Roberts, were required to report to their office at 17 New Salem Street in Wakefield at 8 a.m. Michael Sr. however, was delayed because he had to take a telemarketing call and he arrived a few minutes later than expected. Entering the office building, he discovered the mutilated body of Chester, who was 51 years old, in the garage. Michael Sr., clearly upset after making the find, called 911 to report it and rushed to the second floor, where he found the death of his son, Michael Jr., who had been shot in the face. Michael Jr. was 39 years old.

Both victims had been shot with a 16-gauge shotgun, according to autopsy findings obtained when police arrived on the scene. Mike had been shot in the face not once, but twice, while Chester had been shot in the back. Based on the characteristics of the injuries, the detectives were able to conclude that Mike was the primary target of the attack, that Chester most likely had come face to face with the perpetrator or perpetrators coming down the stairs. He was shot in the back for trying to run away, which is why the wound was there.

Who was responsible for the murders of Michael Zammetti Jr. and Chester Roberts?

After learning that the Zammittis had received a threatening letter some time ago, investigators first suspected that one of the family’s competitors was behind the assassination attempt. They came up with the theory that Michael Sr. may have been the intended victim, but because he was late, his son Michael Jr. the one who had to bear the consequences. Unfortunately, none of the clues turned out to be correct, leaving the police with little choice but to focus on Mike’s loved ones and acquaintances. It was Patricia’s insight that led the investigators to a new interesting person, which ultimately led to the successful resolution of the case.

One of the investigators stated: “Michael Zammetti Jr.’s mother. had informed us that there was a person in Freedom, New Hampshire named Sean Fitzpatrick and that on one occasion she saw her daughter-in-law in an embrace with Sean felt she felt it was inappropriate for her to have a married mother in .” Michele admitted that she and Mike had had an affair, despite the fact that Mike was away most of the time for work and Sean spent most of their time together at their house in Freedom.

Sean was ready for the police to question him because he had prepared two alibi statements before they arrived. He stated that his lifelong neighbor, Gert Ducharme, saw him around 9am on March 13, 2006, making it impossible for him to commit the double murder charged against him. He also claimed, as his second plausible explanation, that he was awakened in the morning by a phone call, which served as an alibi for him. However, when authorities looked at his cell phone records and spoke to his neighbor, they discovered evidence that contradicted his claims. Gert told officers that she saw Sean between 10 and 10:30 a.m., despite the fact that Sean’s cell phone records show he didn’t turn his phone on until 9:45 a.m.

The inconsistencies served to bolster his position as a suspect in the investigation. On March 29, 2006, police went to Freedom to investigate a series of suspicious burglaries, including the theft of a 16-gauge shotgun from Michael Srhouse. Police discovered a green Ford F150 pickup with an extended cab while looking at Sean’s neighbor’s home. Investigators had found a vehicle that appeared to be identical to the one they were looking for while reviewing the surveillance video of the scene of the incident.

Fred Martin, a former Marine who had spent his entire life in Florida, owned the truck and had been there the entire time. On the morning of the murder, he checked his E-ZPass account and discovered a transaction. In addition, authorities discovered a recording on Fred’s transponder that stated the same, and the detectives verified that the killer had used this car. Sean, who had become the prime suspect in the double homicide, refused to give extra help to the police when they interrogated him. On the other hand, the police arrested him for driving with an expired driver’s license and he was able to obtain his fingerprints in the course of the investigation.

The Zammit family had received a threatening letter and they determined that the fingerprints on that letter matched the fingerprints they found on the letter. They also collected the DNA from a condolence card Sean had sent to Michele and found that it matched the DNA found in Fred’s truck, despite the fact that Fred never allowed Sean to enter his truck. On June 6, 2006, Sean, aged 44, was taken into custody and charged with two murders in connection with the incident.
