Another one bites the sand.
Former “Bachelor” Clayton Echard called it an ending with his season 26 winner Susie Evans.
Evans, 29, was the first to announce his breakup with Long Instagram a statement written on behalf of both of them and posted on Friday. Clayton has yet to share the news on his profile.
“With incredibly heavy hearts, we wanted to share that we decided to go our separate ways,” the filmmaker described a photo of the ex-couple laughing together.
“For anyone who has ever loved, he knows it was a painful decision and not taken lightly.”
Evans didn’t go into detail which led to the breakup, but noted that social media was just the “headline” and that the couple had been through “a significant amount of pain” over the past year.
“We know there is no healthy relationship without struggle, but we realized that we were not prepared for external forces that made it difficult for us to heal not only as individuals but also as a couple,” she added.
“We both focus on continuing to work on ourselves so we can be the best version of ourselves.”
Echard, 29, has experienced many analyzes of how he dealt with his relationship with the last three contestants: Evans, Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia.
After Fantasy Suites, the reality show star confessed to women that he had told them all that he was in love with them.
Ultimately, however, he chose Evans, believing he loved her “the most.”
The dramatic ending made Windey and Recchia co-hosts for the final season of “The Bachelorette”.
Evans also noted in the break-up announcement that the decision had not been taken lightly.
“It’s not an easy time for both of us, but we support each other and hope to see others seek happiness and healing,” she wrote on their behalf.
“While Claysie is gone, we hope our communities can support us individually as we move forward with love and self-respect.”
The statement ended: “Thank you to everyone who supported our relationship. It is much more than you will ever know. “
In August, there were signs that the relationship was in its final stages.
Echard revealed in the Dear Media podcast “Not Skinny But Not Fat” that he and Evans had decided to continue their long distance relationship after living together for several months in Virginia Beach, Virginia. She was going to move to Los Angeles and he was going to move to Arizona.
“We say,“ We don’t know if it’s going to take a month [relationship] hence whether it will last a lifetime, but there is no pressure, ”told Amanda Hirsch at the time. “Let’s just love each other and be thankful.”
For her part, Evans revealed in March that she would refuse her then boyfriend’s offer.
“We talked about it and I told Clayton if you surprise me [with an engagement]I will say no “- said the reality star earlier in Nick Viall’s podcast “The Viall Files”. “This is not a funny surprise.”
