Queen Elizabeth II never gave up hope that Prince Harry would make peace with his family.

“The Queen adored Harry to the end, and Harry adored her,” royal author Robert Hardman People said in an article posted on Friday. “I think it was one of the canals linking Windsor to California, and it would be one of her dearest wishes that they get things fixed.”

As many know, Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, have been far from the family since they announced in January 2020 that they no longer wanted to work in the royal family. They settled in Montecito, California.

Harry’s tattered relationship with his family took a new level in March 2021 when he and Markle sat down for an explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey. Harry, 38, criticized the way his father raised him and expressed regret that his father and brother, Prince William, had been “imprisoned” in their royal roles.

In the same interview, Markle tearfully stated that she was considering committing suicide while pregnant with their son, Archie, due to the pressure of dealing with royal life and her treatment by the British media.

The Duchess says that she went to a senior member of the Palace for help and was rejected.

The 41-year-old graduate of “Suit” recently gave another controversial interview in which she claimed that “simply by existence”, she and Harry “disrupted the dynamics of the hierarchy”.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were in Europe at several charity events when Queen Elizabeth died at the age of 96 on September 8. The California couple stayed in the UK for the celebrations that took place and departed the day after the funeral.

Royal observers hoped the days between the Queen’s death and her funeral would help heal shattered relationships.

They were delighted when, two days after the Queen’s departure, the separated brothers and their wives welcomed the crowds gathered in front of Windsor Castle.

But a few erratic steps seemed to weaken any relaxation.

Harry was distraught when her initials were removed from the military uniform he might have worn to watch over his grandmother’s coffin.

“He’s heartbroken,” said a London Sunday Times friend. “Removing Grandma’s initials is very intentional.”

The friend said he was so “devastated” that the prince almost wore his morning suit to avoid “humiliation.”

The Duke and Duchess were also invited and then “uninvited” to a state party for world leaders and foreign aristocrats. Page six only reported that they found out about the withdrawal after reading press reports.

The couple was also disregarded in their funeral seating arrangement, where they were not seated in the front row with the 40-year-old King and William, but rather in the corner of the second row next to his cousin, Princess Beatrice.

“You’d think all family members would unite and support the king, especially,” said a source close to King Charles. “Perhaps some wounds could be healed in the process.”

“She knew conflicts were part of life and she did not hold a grudge. Most of all, she wanted her family to be happy “- added the initiate.
