American serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer killed 17 men in his murderous rampage between 1978 and 1991. Over the course of more than 13 years, Dahmer sought out men, mostly of African American descent, in gay bars, shopping malls and bus stops. He then lured them home with promises of money or sex, gave them drugged wine, and strangled them to death. The corpses were then used as objects for sexual activity before being dismembered and disposed of, often with the skulls or genitals preserved as memorabilia. To help him remember and relive each act of murder, he routinely took photographs of his victims during the various stages of the killing process.

In 1991, authorities found Dahmer, who was sentenced to 16 life terms. In 1994 Christopher Scarver, a fellow prisoner, killed him.

Still, he kept his composure until Steven wanted to leave. When Steven was denied permission to leave, Jeffrey hit the victim twice in the head with dumbbells before strangling him to death.

In the years that followed, Jeffrey also ran into legal troubles for sexual assault and indecent exposure due to his inability to control his desires. Additionally, the serial killer allegedly frequented bathhouses where he allegedly drugged patrons before raping them, according to the 2012 documentary The Jeffrey Dahmer Files. Interestingly, the Netflix series, like Tony Anthony Hughes, features one of Jeffreys victims, and Jeffrey began a budding romance before Hughes was eventually murdered. However, the official papers make no mention of such a relationship, and it appears that Jeffrey lived a largely solitary life.

Yes, after high school, Jeffrey worked most of his life while having the time to regularly continue a series of horrifying murders. After committing his first murder, Jeffrey enrolled in Ohio State University’s College of Business in August 1978 to pursue a degree in the field. However, due to heavy alcohol consumption and a lack of motivation, he dropped out of school after only a few months. After that came January 1979. Jeffrey enlisted at his father’s urging and was even stationed in Baumholder, West Germany, where he worked as a medic. The Army nevertheless granted Jeffrey an honorable discharge in March 1981 after he found his drinking problem had rendered him unfit for service.

When Jeffrey decided to leave the Army, he made plans to go to Miami, Florida, where he briefly worked at a sandwich shop. Eventually, however, he returned to his parents’ home and was sent by his father and stepmother to live with his grandmother in West Allis, Wisconsin. Interestingly, Jeffrey had a keen interest in pursuing a career while living with his grandmother and was hired by the Milwaukee Blood Plasma Center as a phlebotomist in early 1982. He was only able to keep this job for 10 months and after being laid off he made the decision to remain unemployed for the following years. Despite this, at his grandmother’s urging, Jeffrey resumed his job search and began working as a blender at the Milwaukee Ambrosia Chocolate Factory in January 1985. Until his arrest by police in July 1991, Jeffrey worked in this position for the remainder of his spare time.

On May 21, 1960, Lionel and Joyce Dahmer welcomed Dahmer into the world in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Until the age of 4, when the operation of a double hernia took effect, the youngster was considered a lively and happy child. The birth of his younger brother and the many family moves made him more somber and withdrawn. By the time he was in his early teens, he was disinterested, tense, and largely friendless.

Dahmer claims that his urges toward necrophilia and murder began when he was about 14, but it seems that the dissolution of his parents’ marriage and their controversial divorce a few years later may have been the impetus for turning those impulses into action .

Dahmer was out of control with his drinking at the time of his first murder. After three months of studying at the Ohio State University, he left the university and his newly remarried father suggested that he enlist in the army. Dahmer joined the military in late December 1978 and was posted to Germany shortly thereafter.

In early 1981, he was discharged from the army because of his ongoing drinking problems. Dahmer is not believed to have killed any other people during his military service, although German officials later investigated possible links between Dahmer and murders that took place nearby at the time.

Dahmer returned to his home in Ohio after his release. Dahmer’s father sent him to live with his grandmother in Wisconsin after he was jailed for disorderly conduct later that year, but his drinking problem persisted and he was jailed again the following summer for indecent exposure. Two boys accused him of masturbating in front of them in 1986, leading to his second arrest. He was given a one-year probationary period.
