Royal royalty free.

Apparently, it didn’t take long for Meghan Markle to realize that she wasn’t very interested in the reality of her role as the Duchess of Sussex.

The new bomb book claims to have been overheard complaining, “I can’t believe I won’t get paid for this” on its first royal tour in fall 2018 – just months after tying the knot with Prince Harry.

In Courtiers: The Hidden Power Behind the Crown, author Valentine Low writes about what appeared to be Markle’s growing frustration at the daily demands of her royal duties.

Things apparently came to a time when she and Harry embarked on a royal voyage through Australia, Fiji, Tonga and New Zealand – their first time as Duchess and Duke of Sussex.

Markle overall made a positive impression on the Australian audience. Her “refreshingly informal approach to royal visits turned out to be a hit,” as Low describes, embodied in gestures such as donating banana bread to a “farm family” she baked herself.

But behind the scenes, “that was a different story,” claims the author.

Combining first-hand reports from employees insightful of Markle’s behavior, Low writes about the saga: “While she liked the interest, Meghan didn’t understand the point of all these walks. [and] shaking hands with countless strangers. ”

Low further suggests that Markle’s alleged harsh treatment of associates, particularly those associated with the Duke and Duchess’ PR and communications team, intensified during the tour.

According to the book, Jason Knauf – who was in charge of the couple’s media operations – filed a complaint via an October 2018 email that allegedly contained partial content: “I am very concerned that the Duchess has been able to intimidate two PAs from home in last year. ”

He also allegedly called on Markle to display ‘unacceptable’ behavior towards an employee who ‘performed first-class work’.

Knauf stepped down at the end of the year – and soon there was an avalanche of other resignations.

The author of Valentine Low has written a new royal volume.

Markle, 41, and Harry, 38, announced that in 2020 they have decided to resign from their formal positions in the royal family. Soon after, they moved to the California hometown of the former actress “Garnitur”.

Following the death of Queen Elizabeth II on September 8, aged 96, it was reported that the deceased monarch was “exhausted by the confusion” around the pair’s movement and was “badly hurt” by their departure – which meant for her the opportunity to spend time with her great-grandchildren Archie, 3, and Lilibet , years 1.

Prince Harry did not make it to his grandmother’s deathbed at Balmoral Castle in time to say goodbye. While only two of her children – King Charles III and Princess Anna – were with her at the end, Harry’s last known personal contact with the monarch was in June 2022 to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee.
