Review of The Devil is a Part-Timer Season 2 Finale

Maou and his friends begin to ponder the best course of action after determining that Raguel is likely conducting business from one of the city’s towers. While Urushihara comes up with a clever scheme, Emi doesn’t pay much attention to anyone and orders everyone to split into two groups and search for the mysterious angel.

Emi had already investigated the other tower and determined that Raguel was gone while Alsiel and Maou boarded the train to get to one of the towers. Even if it turns out to be true, Emi didn’t mean for Gabriel to be there. He doesn’t want to fight with her, but he says something surprising.

Emi is puzzled by Gabriel’s observation of the strange nature of her parents’ connection and wonders how it is possible for an angel and a human to have a child, which is obviously impossible. In her state of shock, Emi never paid attention when Gabriel said her father was still alive. He had been Emi’s driving force up to this point, but now that she knew he was out there, she wasn’t sure what to do.

While Emi tries to discuss her mental illness with Alas Ramus, Urushihara and Suzuno make their own plans to track down Raguel. But just as the latter uses Sonar, Chiho appears in front of them and shows the abilities she inherited from Emi’s mother. He also seems to be looking for Raguel, and even when he realizes that he is not there, he continues to look for him.

Can Maou and His Friends Find Raguel And Stop Him?

Maou accidentally saw the strange man from the former udon restaurant while looking for Raguel. Maou immediately doubts him when he mentions Gabriel. The man didn’t know Satan was right next to him until he saw Maou. Raguel also showed some defensiveness when Maou talked about Sonar.

After a while, Maou and Alsiel lost their identities. Raguel also changes, as wings begin to sprout from his back. Seconds later, Gabriel appears and mentions that he told Emi that her father is still alive, causing her to lose the will to fight. Without hesitation, Raguel flew to the top of Tokyo Tower, avoiding any conflict, as Maou was furious that he descended to the lower level and the two began exchanging blows with him.

Satan saw that Gabriel was very strong and could not harm him in any way. Even with all his strength, Satan will never overcome him, said the angel. He enters to reveal the countless clones that work for him, making sure that Maou doesn’t really know the full extent of his abilities yet.

Raguel suddenly descends to one of the highest levels of the tower, and it becomes clear that Emi is back to fight again. Throughout the exchange, Gabriel continues to wield immense power, and maintains his dominance until Chiho joins them and uses her bow to shoot him. Gabriel and Raguel run as the war reverses within minutes. He lost consciousness, and was then rushed back to the hospital.

Story Plot of The Devil is a Part-Timer

A strange woman visits the Devil King’s abandoned castle in the demon world and sends the last plant to Earth. While visiting Suzuna, Emi makes fun of Maou, Alciel, and Urushihara’s difficulties during one of their usual arguments. Alciel tries to teach Urushihara how to clean house when Maou leaves for her shift at MgRonald’s, but they sense a strange presence nearby, which starts attacking them. As their shift, Chiho asks to go to Maou’s house, and after it rains and they share an umbrella, she reluctantly agrees.

When it was discovered that the “object” was just a cockroach, everyone was horrified until Suzuna removed it. Unexpectedly, a gate rose above the structure, and a large apple emerged from it. After Maou and Emi fight, Emi attacks Maou with her Holy Sword, but is stopped by the apple hands. They took the transformed apple—a girl—inside. When asked who his parents are, he introduces himself as Alas Ramus and acts towards Maou and Emi, much to everyone’s surprise.

After the revelation, the group tries to decide what to do about Alas Ramus, thinking that since he goes by the name Ente Islan, he isn’t really related to the angels. Maou agreed to let her stay and take care of her in their home. Later, Chiho buys baby necessities for Alas Ramus in an effort to help herself while still feeling a little apprehensive about the unheard response from Maou about her confession. Emi tells Suzuki about the conflict between her, Maou, and Alas Ramus, and gives her tickets to the Tokyo Big-Egg Town amusement park to be with them.

Due to a miscommunication, Chiho and Suzuna bring Alas Ramus to visit Maou at work, resulting in a small scandal. Maou and Chiho are spoken to by the manager, Kisaki, who advises them to be careful about how they look. Chiho accepts Maou’s thanks for his help and his apology that he can’t answer his confession yet. Maou received tickets from Kisaki to Tokyo Big-Egg Town, bringing the group to six. The woman insists, and Emi reluctantly agrees to accompany Maou and Alas Ramus to the park. Alciel, Chiho, and Suzuki decide to secretly follow the three on their “date” on the day of the trip. Urushihara sees the entry of an army and an angel trying to rebuild the “Tree of Life” through a gate.

What Advice Does Maou’s Mom Give Emi?

Maou chooses to visit Chiho in the hospital after putting her life on the line to fight Raguel and Gabriel. Considering that he had recently been poisoned by magic, he was very worried about his health. Fortunately, Chiho is doing great, and he couldn’t be happier for her. However, Chiho’s behavior suddenly changes when the two friends talk.

He suddenly started telling Maou how much he wanted to save her. He continued to express his regret to Maou for an earlier incident. Maou wants Chiho to reveal her true identity as soon as she discovers that she is actually talking to someone else instead of Chiho. He continued by saying that he hoped to bring about reconciliation between the Ente Isla and the demon kingdom so that they could regain their former glory.

The fact that Maou is in Japan is also revealed by Emi’s mother, who now manages Chiho. The Sephirot realm and Ente Isla are actually the closest places to this location. Without giving Maou any further explanation, he said that “that girl* and her father-” held one of the keys. He concludes by emphasizing that Maou must find the Ente Isla “Da’at” in order to restore order to the planet. Chiho finally regained consciousness after she asked him to sit on her own. At this point, it’s clear that Chiho’s possession of Emi’s mother has had some effect on her as Chiho may have shared some of Emi’s memories and emotions. Obviously, the conclusion raises the potential that Chiho could participate in the battle in future seasons in a more active way. With so many unanswered questions, it will be intriguing to see how the story develops.
