Tinara Westbrook controversies
In an Instagram story she shared on April 22, 2019, Westbrook said she was being misled by the beauty industry. Hours before Westbrook’s post, James Charles, another beauty YouTuber, published an ad for SugarBearHair, a competing business with Halo Beauty, which Westbrook owns. Westbrook uploaded a 43-minute video named “BYE SISTER” to YouTube on May 10, 2019. In which she insisted that the conflict between her and Charles was not only about advertising but also about her past relationship with Charles and says he had sex. attacked him.
Because of the video, she attracted more than four million members in a week while Charles lost more than three million in just four days. He achieved the highest subscriber count of over 10.6 million. Charles addressed the allegations on May 18 in a video titled “No More Lies,” in which he offered his version of events. After that, Westbrook lost over a million subscribers and his eligibility for YouTube’s Diamond Creator Award.
Breaking My Silence, a video uploaded by Westbrook to his YouTube page on June 30, 2020, describes the events leading up to and following his BYE SISTER… The video was moved to Private in June 2021. Here, he claimed Shane Dawson and Jeffree Star forced him to make the video against Charles.
