A cheating scandal rocked an Ohio fishing competition held by the Lake Erie Walleye Trail after winning catches were found loaded with lead loads and fish filets. Last Friday, the head of the competition, Jason Fischer, doubted the anglers who might have won the competition when the five fish they caught hit the scales at 34 lbs. all, more than Fischer measured they weighed about 20 lbs., as indicated by The Washington Post. “It just kind of left me empty, because I realized it wasn’t right,” he told the power source.
A livestream of the weigh-in shared on the competition’s Facebook page shows two anglers, Jacob Runyan and Pursue Cominsky, introducing their fish to a scale that read the fish weighed 33.91 lbs. A participating individual can be heard softly saying “no doubt, right” as the weight is displayed on the screen.

Another video of the episode shows Fischer declaring to the group that they found “fish” after cutting one and removing what he said was a lead ball.

Anglers would have won $28,760 in prize money from the event, where groups of anglers will see who can land the heaviest of five absolute walleyes from Lake Erie, according to CNN. The prize money is taken from section expenses for the competition, and the supposed con artists have won several different tournaments facilitated by Fischer of late, according to CNN and The Washington Post.
Lake Erie Walleye Trail agents did not immediately respond to Individuals’ request for input on Monday’s episode.

He also informed the power source that he is not sure what will happen to the large number of bucks that have won competitions recently.
Fischer informed various outlets that the local area participating in these competitions is very close and emphasizes the time away from families that they all spend interacting and participating.
