Adidas says partnership with Kanye West is “under review” amid controversy

Adidas relationship with Kanye West may be coming to an end.

Days after the “Famous” rapper’s controversial show at Paris Fashion Week for Yeezy Season 9, the retail giant released a statement announcing that their partnership with Ye would be evaluated.

“Adidas has always been about creativity, innovation and supporting athletes and artists to achieve their vision,” the company said in a statement to CNBC October 6. “The adidas Yeezy partnership is one of the most successful collaborations in the history of our industry. We are proud of our team who have worked tirelessly throughout our collaboration with Ye and the iconic products that have been born as a result. We also recognize that all successful partnerships are based on mutual respect and shared values.”

Adidas added: “After repeated efforts to resolve the situation privately, we have decided to review the partnership. We will continue to co-manage the current product during this period.”
