Mob Psycho III Season 3 Episode 1

Students at Shio Junior High School have to think about what they want to do in the future, so Mob’s friends and classmates seriously discuss their plans. Most of them seem sure of themselves because they have their lives planned out, but Mob is really missing out. He went to the Spirits and Such Consultations Office to talk to Reigen about the same problem.

Reigen thinks that Mob doesn’t have to think hard because being a psychic is his true calling. However, Mob is not sure, as this is only a part-time job. Even though Reigen tries to assure him that the Spirits and Such Consultations Office has a good chance of developing into something bigger in the future, Mob is not convinced. Not long after, a client came to the office with an 80,000 yen doll that she thought was cursed because it only brought her bad luck.

Reigen says the client has nothing to worry about, but Mob tells him not to touch the doll because it’s been poisoned by an old grudge. When Reigen finds out, he tells Serizawa that he is just testing him and gives him the job of removing the doll. Amusingly, the second person fixes the doll easily, but breaks one of the doll’s arms, which Reigen then fixes.

That night, Mob talks to his family about how he feels about his career choices. His father and brother agree with him, but his mother thinks their ideas are too simple. The next day, Serizawa, Mob, and Reigen go to the home of a middle-aged man who claims to be cursed by an evil spirit that a psychic has not yet been able to remove. He then claimed that an evil spirit fired him from his part-time job because he touched a female co-worker inappropriately. Her boyfriend left her and gave her cavities.

The client worries that he will continue to live a meaningless life and never find his true calling or make real connections with other people. As Mob and Serizawa listen intently, Reigen goes outside and sees an evil spirit growing right above the house. He went straight to his friends and told them about it. Mob and Serizawa move quickly to exorcise the spirit, and the client thanks them for their help.

After they banished the old man’s spirit, Serizawa looked very worried, so Reigen asked him if something was wrong. The old man’s confessions really hit home, and now he feels like he’s in the old man’s boat. Reigen quickly tells him that he won’t last long in business if he keeps acting the same way. He then tells Serizawa that he hasn’t lived half his life yet, so he still has plenty of time to shine.

Reigen thinks it’s good that Serizawa saw how quickly he was hurt by his bad decisions. But Mob also said that he was also touched by the old man’s story. After spending so much time thinking about his future career options, he is very worried about the future. He admits he hasn’t made a big mistake yet, but he thinks that day will come.

Later, Mob meets Reigen at the Spirits and Such Consultations Office and tells him that he won’t see Reigen working there in the future. He would even say that he was too comfortable there, which would probably hinder his growth in the future. Mob needn’t worry about his future now, Reigen told him. He was sure that Mob had many things to do in the future, so he shouldn’t worry too much.

The Mob is told by Reigen to remember that he started the Spirits and Such Consultations Office on a whim, but he plans to do this for the rest of his life. He ends his career advice to the Mob by telling him that he doesn’t have to work in an office no matter what he wants to do in the future. But he could also be just living his own life and making money at the same time.

After waiting for years, Mob Psycho 100 is finally back. People think this action-packed and beautifully animated anime series is one of the best, and Episode 1 of this new season shows that high quality will continue.

The show is about a kind but shy middle school boy with apocalypse-level psychic powers. The first episode of this season goes back to the simple roots of the show, with Mob helping Reigen with his psychic business.

But the episode does a good job of building tension for the rest of the season while still being as funny as ever. Before we continue, a little spoiler alert for Mob Psycho 100!

Mob Psycho 100 goes back to what made it funny in the beginning

Let’s start from the beginning, or more precisely, from the beginning. Mob Psycho 100 is known for its psychedelic opening credits. This season’s opening song, “1,” performed by the Mob Choir, may not be as good as the previous ones, but you should still watch it.

The new season takes place not long after Season 2. In Season 2, there was a huge psychic battle that took place across the city and ended with a giant broccoli growing in the middle of town. This first episode, however, puts that part to the side and begins with a simpler adventure between Mob, Reigen, and Serizawa, a new psychic who has just been hired.

The episode follows them as they switch jobs helping people who think demons have taken over their lives. It’s always funny how the show connects spiritual possession and bad luck in general. A client thinks that the statue he bought brought him bad luck. It turns out that the statue is haunted but he was also tricked into paying for it more than 10 times which shows that he is already unlucky. The show stands out from other psychic-based shows because of the funny happenings.

Of course, Reigen was the best part of the episode, as is often the case. We see not one but two of his “special moves,” and the fact that he can still convince people that he’s a psychic is a bit that should have gotten old by now but somehow hasn’t.

What’s to come is hinted at in the new season

Reigen is still the heart of the show as he gives advice to the Mob that is both heartfelt and funny.

The emotional turmoil of the episode, which stems from Mob not knowing what to do with his future as he nears the end of middle school, cleverly ties into what seems to be the season’s larger plot: the fear of the unknown that future and how mistakes can change it. We see this in one of the main gang’s clients, and we also see it in Serizawa, who just joined Reigen’s team after leaving an evil group at the end of last season. As always, the series explores its own themes by using its characters to the fullest.

Not only that, but this theme is also shown at the end of the episode, when some townspeople look at the broccoli with what can only be described as bewilderment. This will surely be a problem for the Mob and other gangs in the future.

It might be too early to say for sure, but based on the first episode, it looks like Mob Psycho 100 will hit three home runs in a row, and we can’t wait to see what happens in the new season.

The Japanese anime series Mob Psycho 100 is based on One’s manga series of the same name. The anime version was produced by Bones, and directed by Yuzuru Tachikawa. The scripts were written by Hiroshi Seko, the characters were designed by Yoshimichi Kameda, and the music was written by Kenji Kawai. The show ran on Tokyo MX from July 12, 2016, to September 27, 2016. For Season 1, the Mob Choir sang the opening theme song, called “99,” and ALL OFF sang the closing theme song, called “Refrain Boy.” The show was broadcast at the same time on both Crunchyroll and Funimation. Bang Zoom! Entertainment is in charge of making the English dub. On April 18, 2019, Funimation and Crunchyroll confirmed that season two will be simuldubbed on April 25.

The anime show will have a second season, and the staff and cast will return to reprise their roles. From January 7 to April 1, 2019, Mob Psycho 100 II aired simultaneously on TV and on Crunchyroll.

Mob Psycho 100 III, the name of the third season, is already in production. The first show is on October 6, 2022. The simuldub of the third season should be done by Crunchyroll instead of Bang Zoom!, and some roles should be changed. This is because Crunchyroll decided to move dub production to in-person recording sessions at their Dallas-based studio instead of remote recordings, which were often used before the COVID-19 pandemic. Mob’s voice actor, Kyle McCarley, stated that he will likely not return to the role because Crunchyroll will not negotiate with his union, SAG-AFTRA, regarding a possible union contract for future anime dubbing productions. McCarley offered to work without a union for season 3 as long as Crunchyroll negotiated with SAG-AFTRA. Since it didn’t happen, McCarley probably won’t be back. Because of this news, many people on social media were angry with Crunchyroll.
