Friends confident Kanye West is in the midst of a psychiatric episode

Sources close to Kanye West are deeply concerned about him, says Page Six.

Insiders have no doubt that his latest behavior, making headlines, is the result of a mental breakdown, and they believe it is the most serious episode of this kind that the rapper has ever experienced.

We were told that the star of Watch the Throne was barely sleeping, which reportedly contributed to his hospitalization in 2016.

Sources close to the star said his strange behavior started when he fired a publicist for his Paris fashion show last week, abandoned his show plans, and hastily put together a new show with the infamous “White Lives Matter” theme. He also booked his stunning interview with Tucker Carlson against the advice of his team, according to insiders.

Since then, he has been dismissing consultants and advisers who disagreed with or opposed his ideas, according to sources which are widely regarded as anti-Semitic or racist.

He is also trying to hire a new policy-oriented team and has said he wants to focus on getting the platform ready for the second presidential run in 2024. (Yesterday he posted a baseball cap with the words “2024” on the roundabout).

They also said he was alienating his confidants by using in private the same rhetoric that led him to publicly endorse the slogan “White Lives Matter” and tweet anti-Semitic remarks.

We were told friends couldn’t find someone who could reach the superstar and persuade him to seek professional help or mitigate his bizarre and self-destructive behaviors, and even fought longtime buddies who tried to calm him down.

West was hospitalized for mental health issues in 2016, and in 2019 said he had bipolar disorder.

Over the weekend, Instagram said it was restricting West’s account as the company said it had breached his standards, and Adidas said his shoe deal was under review.

West’s representative did not reply.
