Jan Broberg makes a dangerous request to a family friend

Peacock’s new true crime drama A friend of the family tells about the real story of the kidnapping Jan Broberg (McKenna Grace) by a neighbor’s hand Robert Berchtold (Jake Lacy). In E! An exclusive sneak peek of the October 13 series news, a conversation between Jen and her parents, Bob (Colin Hanks) and Mary Ann (Anna Paquin)—goes south quickly after she makes a potentially dangerous request.

Eager to begin her journey to becoming a professional actress, Jan tells her parents about a local production Goodbye, Bird in the clip…only it is not as local as she suggests.

When her father asks where the theater is, Jen replies, “Well, it’s not actually in town. It’s in Jackson Hole.”

Bob and Mary Ann immediately reply, “No,” as all three know that Jackson Hole is Robert’s current location. And after the Brobergs became distrustful of their neighbor, they don’t want their daughter going anywhere with him.
