RHOP star Monique Samuels, her husband tries to fix the marriage, refuse to divorce
Real Housewives of Potomac graduate Monique Samuels admitted that her marriage to her husband, Chris Samuels, “had some problems” but that they are definitely not getting a divorce.
“It’s no secret that Chris and I have struggled in certain areas of our marriage, and everyone who watched Love & Marriage: DC last year, you all saw the arguments, you all saw everything that happened” was “Housewife” started as she hit YouTube on Monday to address the rumors.
“There was a lot of confusion, it was crazy to build this 10 year marker of our marriage, and when you’ve been married for so long and when you have things that are like,” Look, this is unfulfilled or I “been unheard of” you start to get nervous and think “Oh my God, will life be like that? I can’t take it anymore. So what you saw in Love & Marriage: DC last season was my cry for help.
Monique, 39, described that she often felt as if the 45-year-old ex-NFL player was not listening to her when she told him about her needs or about certain issues she had problems with. She also added that she was always “100 percent” true to the point that she puts herself there knowing that “I will be judged.”
“So we did a great job of being transparent to everyone who watched us on social media or on the show – both shows – the fact that people are praising the rumor of a divorce or possible dissolution of marriage. […] it’s sad that people praised it, it’s sad that people were excited about it, and then you know you have many people who love and support our family who are devastated, she continued.
“Without further explanation, everyone knows that when you say the words separation, it suggests divorce. Are Chris and I getting a divorce? Not! We will not divorce. Are we going our own ways? Absolutely not, nobody said that. Have we applied for legal separation? Not. Have we filed for divorce? Not. Is there any document that confirms any divorce applications? Not. Did we part so much that we broke up? Not.”
A mother of three noted that she wanted to show the process of repairing their marriage as part of the upcoming season of “Love & Marriage: DC” but were forced to reveal the plot as rumors surfaced.
She explained that instead of filing for divorce, she and Chris decided to go to individual counseling to work “on their personal affairs” and “focus on themselves”.
“We chose to spend a few nights apart while we were on our advisory journeys,” she revealed. “We communicate much better than what we have had for a long time.”
She continued: “We are definitely still together, we haven’t given up on our marriage, we haven’t broken up, and we’re not looking for a divorce. We’re just trying to do better. “
Chris, who remained silent for most of the statements, added that they found the rumors amusing and were not concerned about them. However, he noted that “it is very disappointing and it is a pity that people are releasing things without checking the facts.”
In her statement, Monique also stood up in defense of her “RHOP” partner Ashley Darby, who said at BravoCon the pair had been separated.
“Lots of people have tried to throw Ashley under the bus. Ashley is innocent, leave her alone. She didn’t start it, ”she told her fans.
Monique and Chris’s YouTube statement comes just one day after multiple reports claimed the couple would split up after 10 years of marriage.
Following the reports, the couple seemingly reacted to the rumors by flashing their wedding rings as they wandered around.
The couple has three children: 9-year-old sons Christopher and 3-year-old Chase, and 7-year-old daughter Milani.
