Trevor Noah, Dua Lipa melt away after a date in New York
Like Dua Lipa’s hits, her chemistry with Trevor Noah is off the charts.
South African comedian made a guest appearance on the London-born pop star’s show Podcast “At your service”which dropped on a Friday but was filmed the same week as their September date.
During the couple’s conversation, Noah, 38, pounced on the “wonderful and gracious” singer who was just as flattering to say about her “amazing” and “very special guy”.
At the beginning of their chat, 27-year-old Lipa explained that she had recently read Noah’s 2016 diary, Born a Crime: Stories from South African Childhood, and “absolutely loved it.”
“I found it totally moving and sometimes quite funny. That was also the reason why I wanted to talk to him in this episode, “she told her audience, adding that she enjoyed learning about the many” dimensions “of the future Daily Show host.
“I can see your monologues on TikTok all the time,” Lipa also admitted, noting that she and her guest only exchanged brief greetings at the awards ceremony before they sat down.
“I really do,” Noah agreed. “One of the greatest gifts and curses of success in the entertainment industry is that you can meet some of the most interesting people in the world, but if you’re successful enough, you’ll never meet. … So it’s nice to see you like this, I suppose, for a change. ”
Lipa replied that she was excited about “having the right conversation to really get to know each other”.
“You’re obviously very funny,” she said with a chuckle, “but your humor is very analytical, and I think that’s a big reason people attract you as well.”
During the discussion, the artists linked up with their experiences of growing up outside of the United States, the “context” needed to appreciate their craftsmanship and the importance of mental health.
Speaking of his own fame, Noah said, “I remember when you performed … I feel like I saw you … were you in Ukraine?”
“Yes, it’s so funny,” Lipa replied. “I spoke about it today.”
At the same time, both recalled the singer’s performance at the opening ceremony during the 2018 UEFA Champions League final in Kiev.
“I remember I was in Ukraine and then I saw you there and then you came to the show and it was so weird,” recalled the comedian.
“I remember people saying,” Who the hell is that? ” And I was like, “It’s Dua Lipa! It’s Dua Lipa! And it’s like all those old men who come to watch football [soccer] games, and they’re just like, “Who is that person?” And now there is no one in the world who … no? I know you.”
Later in the episode, Lipa called Noah’s devotion to him educational foundation “Amazing” and “wonderful”.
“It was a real pleasure talking to you and getting to know you a little more outside of the book,” she said as they finished.
Joking about how they will see each other at the next awards show, Noah said, “One day I even told my friend that I said, ‘Every time I see Dua Lipa, it’s at an awards show. So now it means if I see her my life will be fine. So now I just hope to see her more often which means my life is still going extremely well.
He continued, “You’ve always been really great and kind. You have always been a truly wonderful light, just like in the spaces where everyone is. So thank you for taking the time. I appreciate you.”
After their September 28 trip made headlines, an insider said that Page Six Lipa was “infatuated” with what was “definitely a date” and that she and Noah were in the “very early” stage of getting to know each other.
After sharing an intimate meal at Miss Lily – the place Noah had chosen – he and Lipa went for a walk that included hugs and a possible “kiss on the corners of the mouth.”
“There is definitely interest from both sides,” our informant insisted.
