Alum “SNL” Chris Redd “Heals Quickly” after a suction cup attack
Former Saturday Night Live star Chris Redd is “OK” after he got battered last week.
The comedian updated his fans in an Instagram post over the weekend, saying he is getting better and is already looking to postpone shows he missed.
“I was resting like crazy, but thank you, thank you, thank you for all the love messages, jokes and care! Everything is fine and heals quickly !! Redd, 37, started his message.
“For all the shows I missed, I’ll be back on schedule so if you’ve bought tickets.
“I’ll be back to talking about good shit soon !!!” – finished.
The “Joker” actor later explained that “no one has hijacked” his chain.
Redd was hanging outside the club on MacDougal Street when one of the two men who were apparently waiting for him approached him and hit him “out of nowhere,” only a Page Six source reported.
“There was blood everywhere,” we were told.
Redd was taken to Bellevue Hospital to heal his injury, which involved two blackened eyes and a cut on his nose. He was discharged from the hospital after receiving urgent treatment from doctors.
TMZ later reported that the attacker had hit the stand-up comedian with brass knuckles, which is illegal.
NYPD later posted a photo of a suspected Redd’s attacker from surveillance footage and described him as being between 35 and 40 years old, 6 feet 2 inches tall, and about 280 pounds. In the clip, the alleged attacker is walking down the street wearing a blue jacket, blue shirt, black pants, multi-colored fedora hat, and black face mask.
Comedy sources told Page Six the attack may have something to do with the fact that Redd is dating his SNL partner Kenan Thompson’s wife, Christina Evangeline.
