Migos label claims a “stray bullet” killed rapper Takeoff

Rap label group Migos released a statement following Takeoff’s untimely death.

“With broken hearts and deep sorrow, we mourn the loss of our beloved brother Kirsnick Khari Ball, known to the world as Takeoff,” the Quality Control statement began.

“The senseless violence and a stray bullet have taken another life from this world and we are devastated.”

The label’s message ended with a request to respect the deceased rapper’s family and friends as they process their “monumental loss.”

Takeoff was shot on Tuesday morning at a Houston bowling alley with fellow rapper Migos Quavo, who is also his uncle.

Houston police confirmed Takeoff’s death, aged 28, at a press conference a few hours later, informing viewers that they believe the suspects were guests at a private party where Takeoff and Quavo attended the 810 Billiards & Bowling Houston on Monday night.

Sgt. Arrington, the lead investigator on the case, also confirmed that there was a disagreement behind the fatal shootout. The reason for the argument was not given, but it was previously reported that it was about a game of dice.

Police also confirmed that the killer was still at large.

Sgt. Arrington also shared at a press conference that two other people had come to nearby hospitals to heal “non-life-threatening injuries.” They were a 23-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman.

“They’ll both be fine,” he added.

Before the press conference, footage of the aftermath of the shooting appeared on Twitter. In the devastating movie, Quavo was seen trying to deal with Takeoff, who looked dead and bloody on the floor. Quavo screamed for help.
