Olivia Culpo “had no money” after Nick Jonas broke up
Olivia Culpo found herself in serious trouble after breaking up with Nick Jonas.
On her family’s new reality show, former Miss Universe frankly opened up to personal and financial problems in 2015 after she moved to Los Angeles during her relationship with singer Jonas Brothers.
“I had no brand, no money, and I was in love,” said 30-year-old Culpo on the premiere episode of the TLC series “The Culpo Sisters” on Monday.
“But when he broke up with me, I lost my sense of identity,” she recalls. “My whole identity was in him, which is a very common story for a young person in love.”
The couple started dating in 2013 and quit almost two years later.
“I just remember night after night looking at the ceiling in my apartment that I couldn’t afford, thinking to myself, ‘How will I pay the rent?’ I couldn’t even afford shopping – the model confessed.
“It was a serious, pivotal moment for me, but it was something that taught me not to give up.”
Culpo also touched on how she thought she and Jonas were “getting married” and how their relationship was a “shaping” experience for her.
Since then, the reality show star moved in with the San Francisco 49ers runaway Christian McCaffrey who was recently sold from Carolina Panthers.
The couple started dating in early 2019 and established their relationship on Instagram in November.
Jonas also moved, marrying Priyanka Chopra in December 2018. The couple welcomed their first child, daughter Malti, by a surrogate in January.
