Page Six learns there is continuing concern at 30 Rock over the decision to invite Dave Chappelle to host Saturday Night Live this weekend.

We were told that some writers are so furious that the comedy superstar – who … he made transphobic and homophobic jokes – was chosen to direct the iconic series in which they are waiting out an episode.

“They won’t do the show,” said a Page Six insider. “But none of the actors are boycotting.”

But a Chappelle representative told us that there is no sign of a boycott of their presence at the writers’ meetings this week.

“SNL” revealed last week that the star of the “Chappelle Show” will be hosting the show with musical guest Black Star on November 12. This will be his third time as a host.

The last time he hosted a comedy show was in 2020, long before Netflix released his special show “The Closer” in 2021. This angered some viewers as many of Chappelle’s jokes were aimed at the trans community. For example, he intentionally turned a transgender friend and fellow comedian for laughter.

Chappelle attended Tuesday’s 30 Rock meeting with writers and producers, and his representative told us that “there is no evidence of a boycott.”

“The room was full of writers. Everyone came up with ideas and seemed very excited…. Dave wants to have a little fun, ”they told us.

Following the announcement, “SNL” writer Celeste Yim reportedly wrote in Instagram Stories: “I’m trans and non-binary. I use their / their pronouns. Transphobia is murder and must be condemned.

It’s unclear if they are one of the authors boycotting the show this week or actually referring to Chappelle. They didn’t come back to us when we got to us.

The representative of “SNL” also did not come back to us.

Meanwhile, the show made history when he announced his first non-binary cast member, Molly Kearney in September. Kearney hasn’t spoken publicly about Chappelle’s upcoming show.

Former Netflix boss Terra Field who sued the streaming service claiming they took revenge on them for speaking out against Chappelle, he tweeted about the announcement: “Wait, I thought I canceled it. Is it possible to cancel a culture that is not real ”.

Chappelle and “SNL” did not respond to this or other comments made on social media.
