Nick Lachey overshadows ex Jessica Simpson with a “second” marriage

He’s got jokes.

Nick Lachey seemingly overshadowed ex-wife Jessica Simpson during the “Love Is Blind” season 3 reunion, which appeared on Thursday.

Speaking to participant Matt Bolton – who was married to his high school sweetheart before Colleen Reed said yes – Lachey punched him and said, “Marriage is always better the second time.”

The 98 Degrees singer did the kick from next to his second wife, Vanessa Lachey, with whom he co-hosts the Netflix show.

“Cheers, man,” said Bolton in response.

Fans took to social media to urge the singer to “disrespect” in Simpson.

“Say what you want about love, it’s blind season 3, but Nick Lachey didn’t have to involve Jessica Simpson,” one tweeted while another wrote, “Nick Lachey DIDN’T SAY just,” hey marriage is always better for second time, right? ‘ Oh my God.”

A third viewer wrote: “Nick Lachey punching with Matt about his first marriage to Jessica Simpson did not suit me.”

Nick, 49, married the 42-year-old star “Dukes of Hazzard” in 2002, and their tumultuous relationship was featured on MTV’s reality show Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica.

Simpson eventually filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences” in late 2005, and their split was finalized the following year.

Nick moved quickly with his current wife, 42-year-old Vanessa. They both tied the knot in 2011.

The couple now have three children: 10-year-old Camden, 5-year-old Phoenix and 7-year-old Brooklyn.

Simpson, for her part, married NFL star Eric Johnson in 2014, and the couple have three children: Maxwell (10), Ace (9) and Birdie (2).
