Hilarie Burton called Candace Cameron Bure a “bigot” because of her comments about portraying “traditional marriages” on the screen.

Alum “One Tree Hill” replied to Interview with the Wall Street Journal in which Cameron Bure mentioned that the Great American Family network did not portray same-sex couples at the forefront of their projects, accusing a Full House graduate of “openly admitting [her] bigotry.”

Burton, 40, tweeted on Monday: “I don’t remember Jesus liking hypocrites like Candy. But for sure. Earn money, honey.

“You ride this wave of prejudice all the way to the bank,” continued the former Total Request Live host.

Burton also spoke out against the network’s CEO, Bill Abbott, who said he was “aware of the trends.”

The host of True Crime Story explained that “being LGBTQ + is not a” trend “, adding:” This guy and his network are gross. You too, Candy. There is nothing unusual about same-sex couples. “

“I’m glad they dumped him,” wrote the actress.

Bure announced her departure from Hallmark in April after more than 10 years and 30 films, and then transferred to the Great American Family Network.

“I am very excited to develop heartfelt family and faithful programs and create stories that my family and I love to watch,” a Full House graduate said in a statement. “The GAC fits my brand perfectly; we share the vision of creating attractive, healthy content ”.

Bure further explained her decision in The Wall Street Journal on Monday, saying she “knew the people behind the Great American Family were Christians who love the Lord and want to promote faith programming and good family entertainment.”

A graduate of Dancing With the Stars commented, “My heart wants to tell stories that have more meaning, purpose and depth behind them.”

Earlier, Bure said at a panel in 2016 that she is “100 percent committed” to working on projects involving same-sex couples.

“I support all the things we go through as human beings, and I would like all of our characters to research any issues that are relevant to our culture and our society,” she explained then.

A year later, the co-host of “Widok” wrote on Instagram that she was not a homophobe.

“Loving Jesus doesn’t mean I hate gays or anyone,” she wrote in 2017.
