Ivanka Trump announced this week that she would not join her father Donald Trump in making a third bid for the White House – ruling out her return to the political arena.

Instead, she focuses on her life in peaceful Miami – away from the wintry climate of Washington – with her three children and husband Jared Kushner.

It’s been a year of ups and downs for the statuesque blonde, who we’re told feels she and her husband “left everything on the field” when they left the White House last January.

In July, she was heartbroken when her mother, Ivana Trump, died at 73 after a fall at her home in Manhattan. (This house just hit the market for a cool $26.5 million.)

A month later, Trump, 41, suffered another blow when her husband underwent a second thyroid operation. Kushner, also 41, wrote in his book “Breaking History: A White House Memoir” that he secretly underwent a similar surgery for thyroid cancer in 2019 while a senior adviser to Donald Trump in the White House.

Ivana’s death made her daughter realize how precious life is, a close friend admitted this week, telling The Post: “I think losing a parent definitely leads to a real awakening, which means different things to different people. For Ivanka, it underlined how fleeting time is.”

“But with all the sadness that came from that time, the constant refrain in every story she heard about her mother … was that she really lived: at work, personally and professionally; (and like Ivanka) also left everything on the field. Didn’t look forward to having fun later! She was definitely one of a kind and was a true force of nature.”

Speaking of Kushner, a friend said, “Good health is something Ivanka really prayed for. Jared’s first health scare was at the White House, and then there was the second scare.

The decision to leave the political fight was one of the decisions Trump and Kushner made shortly after leaving office in early 2021.

Speaking to a number of close family confidants this week, another Trump insider told The Post: “Going into government changed the trajectory of their lives, but never expected go into politics.” And they’re unlikely to come back.

“Ivanka and Jared… they were really specific that they wouldn’t be back. They feel it was an amazing, extraordinary chapter in their lives – but their departure wasn’t for one thing.”

And while they celebrated the wedding of Tiffany Trump to billionaire Michael Boulos at Mar-a-Lago last weekend – where Trump was her sister’s bridesmaid – those familiar with the family denied claims the lavish party was overshadowed by Donald’s attempts to get Ivanka and Jared back into his campaign.

One guest over the weekend told The Post: “The wedding was amazing. It was funny because for the first time in a long time – and especially … because it was just before Donald announced he was running again – there was no talk of politics.

“People were just happy to be present and there was a lot of laughter and dancing.
“Ivanka, Jared, Michael and Donald even played golf together the Friday before the wedding”

Trump, who was a senior White House adviser alongside Kushner, has adjusted to her new life in Florida. The pair are regularly seen at all Miami hotspots including Carbone, Call Me Gaby and ZZ’s Club and have become part of the Miami community as their new multi-million dollar family home.

After four years in the whirlwind of politics, Trump can now spend more time with his offspring – riding horses with 11-year-old Arabella, fishing with Joseph and taking parkour classes with Theo. It was there too family trip to Israel in the summer— and going to New Orleans with my girlfriend for the Jazz Fest.

During her time in the Trump administration, Trump was determined to address policies that support working mothers, including doubling the child tax credit, supporting childcare, expanding the education workforce, and paid family leave.

She also worked with members of Congress to provide federal employees with 12 weeks of paid family leave. There were also Trump’s efforts during the COVID negotiations to provide small business workers with paid sick leave to care for themselves or sick family members.

Since leaving government, Trump has been absorbed in philanthropy. We are told that this has become Trump’s “real mission” as he works on food security issues, specifically supporting farmers in the United States and helping with various rescues at home and abroad.

During COVID, Trump also worked closely with the Small Business Administration as well as the Treasury Department to help enact the Paycheck Protection Program. Efforts were also made on behalf of the USDA to create the “Farmers to Families Food Box” program, which delivered more than 170 million boxes of fresh food to families in need.

More recently, Trump has been actively involved in the crisis in Ukraine, helping deliver 1 million meals to needy Ukrainian families and working to coordinate five transport planes carrying medical supplies to the war-torn country.

In addition, she provided financial assistance and volunteered in disaster-affected areas throughout the United States, including Florida after Hurricane Ian. And now she is determined to continue her work in the private sector and philanthropy, we are told.

Perhaps that explains why Trump was not at her father’s side when he announced his run for president in Mar-a-Lago on Tuesday.

Instead, she released a statement that read: “I love my father very much. This time I choose to prioritize my little children and the private life we create as a family. I don’t plan to get involved in politics.

Speaking about her dad’s run, another friend of Trump told The Post: “It takes tremendous courage and courage to throw yourself in the ring, I respect his decision to do so, everyone makes a decision that is right for them.”

In addition to helping American farmers, Trump's philanthropic efforts have included raising money for war-affected families in Ukraine, such as those refugees in Poland.

“Ivanka has had so many different roles, as her father’s private sector associate, as an assistant in the White House – but the most important role is his daughter, and that hasn’t changed.

“It’s a personal decision to prioritize joy at this time,” the friend added.

Meanwhile, Kushner was also busy. Along with launching a thoroughly researched mutual fund, he founded the non-profit organization The Abraham Accords Peace Institute last year. The philanthropy is based on his work in the Trump administration on the Abraham Accords, which officials touted as a “historic peace deal” between Israel, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates that normalized relations in the Middle East.

For both Kushner and Trump, the White House has been both an unimaginable blessing and an sometimes costly curse.

“The hiatus that was necessary to go into government meant Ivanka had to close down business and divest assets, she resigned from hundreds of entities. She came out uninhibited and can now choose what she is attached to – that doesn’t happen often when you’re 41, and she feels incredibly blessed.

“Now Ivanka is free to focus without walking on the treadmill, it’s a really good feeling – it’s very liberating. It’s probably the best time of her life.”
